# Switch from Kajabi to Fanful: migration guide

A practical migration checklist for creators evaluating Fanful as a Kajabi alternative.

## Migration posture

Protect revenue-critical course funnels. Fanful is the better first migration target for lightweight lessons, creator identity, media, community, and shop context; mature automations and funnels should move only after the replacement journey is tested end to end.

## Migration stages

### 1. Inventory the current stack
List what Kajabi currently owns before changing any live fan-facing path.

- Inventory courses, modules, lessons, drip schedules, coaching offers, coupons, funnels, emails, automations, members, and payments.
- Decide which teaching products truly need a course-suite workflow and which can become simpler lessons or member experiences.

### 2. Map fan jobs into Fanful
Decide which jobs should become native Fanful surfaces and which should remain linked or temporarily external.

- Coaches and educators who want courses or lessons beside community, content, commerce, and creator identity.
- Separate content, commerce, membership, community, lesson, live, email, and analytics needs so each one has an owner.

### 3. Run in parallel before cutover
Keep the source platform live while the Fanful destination is checked by humans and agents.

- Map audience segments and automations into Fanful only after core content and access rules are clear.
- Keep Kajabi active for revenue-critical funnels until Fanful can prove the replacement flow end to end.

## Data map

| Source data | Fanful destination | Handling note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Courses, modules, lessons, downloads, and assessments | Lessons, media, and protected member resources | Move the simplest learning products first; keep advanced course logic on Kajabi. |
| Offers, coupons, funnels, automations, and emails | Offers, onboarding, and campaign planning | Document every automation before replacing it with a simpler Fanful flow. |
| Members, progress, purchases, and coaching access | Fan profiles, memberships, and lesson access | Protect paid access and progress records before changing login destinations. |
| Landing pages and expert-brand content | Public creator site and guide pages | Move brand pages before mission-critical funnels. |

## Cutover checks

- The Fanful comparison page for Kajabi still describes the tradeoff honestly.
- Every migrated fan path has a fallback link to the old platform during the transition.
- Paid access, export rights, and email consent are documented before any audience import.
- The markdown guide mirrors the browser guide so agents can audit the migration plan.
